What are the types of bariatric surgery?

There are 4 commonly used operations in Australia:

• Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (LapBand®),
• Single Anastamosis Gastric Bypass (Omega loop or mini-bypass),
• Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, and
• Sleeve Gastrectomy (sleeve).

Our Bariatric Surgeons can also perform the following:

• Gastric band (LapBand®) removal, and
• Revisional operations.

Not all surgeons perform all operations, so it’s best to talk to your surgeon about what is available and what is recommended for the best results in your unique case.
